Saunavihta is released!

The search for a sponsor went better than we could imagine. Yo! Arcade gave us the best offer and became the primary sponsor. Click here to play Saunavihta.

At first Saunavihta was called Itsemurha which means suicide in Finnish and you were supposed to commit suicide by diving into the toxic black smoke or something like that.

At that time the enemies in the game were hippies because if you are a Finnish black metal guy, hippies are bound to be your natural enemies.

So if you were caught by the hippies you lost. To the left is the original game over screen which later became the “So Cold” screen.

The reason we changed the hippies to snowmen and the toxic smoke to sauna smoke was that we though it was unnecessary to make a puzzle game that violent and went with a friendlier look.

Also it was quite hard to get colorful hippies to blend in with the black/white/orange colors in the game.

The graphics in this game were all made by me, Olle, I usually do the programming but every once in a while I do some graphics. Some people have asked me how I made the wobbly effects on everything and the answer is that all the graphics in the game have three frames that are slightly different, nothing fancier than that.
